Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program – Japeth’s Video Review
Japeth lost his mother in January and his father in July. He describes his parents as his “greatest foundation.” He was prescribed medication which he became accustomed to and continued to use.
One day, he took Ambien plus Xanax. Japeth describes sleepwalking to his car and actually driving. He pulled over and was discovered by a policeman asleep and unresponsive. It was his first DUI, but his friends begged him to get help. One friend recommended Sovereign and Japeth began treatment with the stated goal of becoming drug free.
Japeth described Sovereign staff as providing “affection, closeness, attention and support.” He said everyone was professional “from the man at the top to the janitor.” He complimented everyone including house managers and drivers. He learned much, particularly in group therapy from which he “gained knowledge” and was impressed that every staff member’s door was open to him. Japeth said, “My goal was to get better and I found the tools. I have traveled much and am fortunate; I have seen people who would die to be in my position.”
Japeth says the staff made him feel comfortable and feels he can be an example to others. He was happy with the care he received from his physician, therapist and psychiatrist. He said, “I am a stronger person and have grown as a man.” His advice to others is that Sovereign is “structured to help you, so pay attention.”*
