Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program – Lauren’s Video Review
In this narrative, Lauren explains how Sovereign was able to provide support and comfort through its residential program as she fought her heroin and methamphetamine addictions. After going through a rehab program at the age of 17, Lauren was sober for nearly three years. She relapsed and hit rock bottom fast, losing everything within months. After spending three weeks in jail on drug-related charges, Lauren was referred to Sovereign Health Group for court-ordered treatment. There, she was immediately made to feel at ease by both staff and her housemates. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) group was her favorite, led by Jesse, who she says was able to make the group session interactive and fun. Lauren also participated in the neurofeedback program.
Lauren’s personal goal upon entering treatment was to want recovery for herself and not just because the program was court-mandated. She attained this and moved to a sober living house by choice after leaving the residential program at Sovereign upon completion of her treatment. She gives advice to future clients that they not get complacent in treatment, but rather take advantage of the program and start working on their recovery early. Lauren thanks Sovereign and its diverse treatment program for aiding her recovery process and helping her get back on her feet. *
