Meet Our Staff
Denis Dechochor, Case Manager and Discharge Coordinator at Sovereign Health Group

Each month Sovereign Health puts one of its own staff in the spotlight to provide an in-depth look at the people who are dedicated to create and provide quality care for our clients and families.

In this month's newsletter we highlight our new Case Manager and Discharge Coordinator, Denis Dechochor.

Having only arrived at Sovereign a few short months ago, Denis has quickly become an essential piece of the Sovereign puzzle, as our resident discharge planner. Denis joined Sovereign with a long history of experience in case management, including positions as a Discharge Planner at Mission Pacific Coast Recovery, a lead Counselor at the Comeback Treatment Center and a Case Manager at the Hollywood Community Clinic. Denis's vast experience in case management as well as his educational background in the field of recovery is also invaluable as a discharge planner. As a member of the behavioral health and addiction fields Denis also holds a certificate as a CADC-I in the state of California. Sovereign Health is proud to welcome Denis as a valuable member of our clinical continuum of care.

Altered Neural Circuitry May Contribute To Anorexia And Bulimia
Eating Disorders and the Brain

Earlier this month, experts identified a connection between eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia and altered neural circuitry. From this connection researchers believe that the restricted or uncontrollable eating indicate the various types of eating disorders is directly linked to what is happening to a certain part of the brain, meaning that our brain is responsible for our appetite. Anesthetic Can Reduce Depression?
Clinical Depression Research
If you have ever felt depressed, or have been diagnosed with depression, then you know just how debilitating the symptoms can be. Researchers have always been looking for better ways to control these symptoms, and one recent finding may be a surprise. According to a report on the Mayo Clinic's website (that was later removed), an anesthetic, usually used during surgery and other treatment of localized pain, may also be effective in treating clinical depression. Utilizing Insurance
Cost Effective Treatment

Many sufferers of Addiction, Dual Diagnosis, Mental Health, and/or Eating Disorder conditions have been left untreated due to not having enough financial resources to cover a treatment program.  In the past, there were programs for those who qualified for county and/or government assistance and programs for those who were able to afford high end treatment. The question then arose, what about the middle, typically known as the working class?

Sovereign Health Group wanted to change the face of the utilization of private health insurance for behavioral health and addiction treatment and help more people reach the help they need and deserve.   SHG has been diligent and motivated from inception to create and continue increasing the amount of coverage a patient receives for treatment. From the very first call, our admissions team will handle the verification of benefits and devise a plan of action to get the patient into treatment as quickly as possible. We are willing to work with each person individually and devise the best plan.

We are proud to say "We Accept and Direct Bill Insurance".

We accept most PPO and HMO insurances up front, call Admissions today to learn more, 866-819-2948.
