October 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. PDT – Treating Addiction & Mental Health Through The Use of Sand Tray Therapy – Sovereign Health of El Paso – Ruth Anne Kramer, a licensed clinical social work and chemical dependency counselor, will explain how therapy and therapists provide a space conducive to the healing process when individuals experience trauma, painful memories which impact both the mind and body. Sometimes, treatment of trauma requires exploring and processing memories which are inaccessible through talk-therapy techniques. One sensory-based technique, sand tray therapy, creates a safe place where the therapist guides the client to witness and experience the integration of cognitive and somatic memory, beginning the healing process. To RSVP or for additional information, please contact Cynthia Barrera or call 915-229-7356.
