Standing above other Palm Springs treatment centers, Sovereign Health’s Palm Desert location provides evidence-based, effective treatment for mental health and substance use disorders. Our staff of dedicated clinicians used the latest modalities to give patients the best chance at a lasting recovery.
About our facility
Starting as a satellite city of Palm Springs, Palm Desert has developed into one of southern California’s leading resort towns. A short drive from Los Angeles, the area has been a destination for celebrities, golfers and others attracted to the warm, sunny weather, fresh air and peaceful ambiance.
Sovereign Health maintains 10 residences in Palm Springs, Palm Desert and Cathedral City, five of which have pools. All houses have spacious backyards and views of the scenic San Jacinto Mountains.
Men and women are housed separately and sleep two or three to a room. Crisis intervention is available at the houses 24/7. Limited TV and game time are available at the houses. Patients enjoy three professionally prepared meals a day and are able to make specific dietary requests. All houses have laundry facilities, and patients are given responsibility for the upkeep of their living areas by participating in daily chores.
The Palm Springs area features many attractions, which frequently serve as destinations for group outings. Gyms, bowling, local art museums and hiking are just some of the recreational activities patients can participate in.
About our patients
Sovereign is a leading provider of mental health treatment and drug rehab in Palm Springs, and we admit patients 18 and older to our facility. We serve patients who are mentally ill, dealing with a substance use disorder, or have a dual diagnosis of both problems. Most patients stay between 30 and 90 days with us.
Before entering our program, every patient goes through interviews and assessments with staff. This gives us an idea of the patient’s personality and behaviors, and also allows us to create an effective treatment program individually tailored to each patient’s specific needs. Patients also receive medical and psychological checkups before treatment begins as well. Finally, for the safety of both staff members and patients, a tuberculosis skin test is conducted.
