Sovereign Health’s Los Angeles treatment facility is located in Culver City, near the interchange of the 90 and 405 freeways. We treat patients with substance abuse, mental health issues and co-occurring disorders as well as offer a specialized trauma treatment track.

Insurance and financing

Sovereign Health accepts all major insurance plans. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) mandates every adult carry health insurance. In 2008, Congress passed the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA). This law guarantees that benefits for behavioral health conditions are equal to benefits for physical health issues.

To ensure anyone who wants treatment receives it, Sovereign Health has partnered with My Treatment Lender to secure loans for treatment. My Treatment Lender specializes in securing financing for treatment. They shop your loan with hundreds of lenders nationwide to get you the best deal. Good credit helps but is not necessary for securing a loan.

Levels of care

Sovereign Health’s Los Angeles treatment center offers four levels of treatment

  • Residential treatment (RTC). During treatment, patients live at one of the eight residences Sovereign Health operates in the immediate vicinity. Patients are transported to and from treatment in vehicles operated by Sovereign Health employees. Patients take breakfast and dinner at the residence (lunch is taken at the treatment center). Patients contribute to the care and uptake of the residence
  • Partial hospitalization program (PHP). PHP is an intensive, short-term clinical treatment program in which patients receive treatment throughout the day but return to their home or sober living house in the evenings.
  • Intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) is the least intense level of care. Patients receive care during the day and return to their home afterwards to allow them to address other commitments during the recovery process.
  • Nonmedical detox. Patients who arrive at treatment still addicted require special care. Withdrawing from alcohol or drugs is a potentially lethal procedure. People who try to detox on their own can suffer heart attacks, convulsions and debilitating strokes. Our treatment center in Culver City provides nonmedical detox under the supervision of our clinicians. Nonmedical detox does not use tranquilizers or other chemicals to wean the patient off his or her addiction. The process is gradual and safe.
