As part of their on-going campaign to educate and raise awareness about the issues surrounding addiction and mental health Sovereign Health puts together monthly networking events to discuss hot topic issues. The networking events are a great opportunity for mental health professionals to get together and communicate their findings and challenges facing them. Educating and advocacy are essential in dealing with addiction treatment and encouraging strong mental health.
Mental Health Networking
Addiction is a complicated subject which often times is created by an underlying issue requiring an accurate dual diagnosis for proper treatment. Even the substances people are addicted too is often subject to change. Addiction medicine specialists have seen an increase in K2 spice addiction and the abuse of prescription medicine, especially amongst young people. MDMA, marijuana and opiate addiction continue to negatively impact people’s lives and damage overall brain wellness and cognitive function.
Eating disorders are another component that can negatively affect mental health. Anorexia, compulsive exercising and orthorexia are just a few of the variations of eating disorders. Eating disorder diagnosis can sometimes be overlooked, as many people remain un-clear on ‘What is an eating disorder?’ Sovereign Health believes that whether you’re dealing with substance abuse, eating disorders or general mental health their Brain Wellness program has been an essential tool in helping treat clients.
