Percocet® Treatment Program

Percocet® contains an opiate, an analgesic and a non-narcotic pain medication. Available on prescription, it is used as a pain reliever. Prolonged use produces a heightened tolerance, and with abuse, addiction. Produced in liquid and tablet form, or as a capsule, abusers take it either orally or by snorting it.

Side effects typically include but are not limited to, drowsiness, constricted pupils, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, depression, skin rash, depressed respiration.

Percocet® addiction is often hard for friends and family to recognize. Addicts do not always use daily and abuse is prevalent amongst all age groups. Addicts tend to be unaware of their dependence until it reaches a point where it is ruling their lives.

Abrupt withdrawal can cause severe symptoms within 6 to 8 hours of cessation. These may include flu-like symptoms, gastrointestinal distress, anxiety, nausea, insomnia, muscle ache, fevers, sweating, and runny nose and eyes.

In the past few years, we have noticed a large increase in patients addicted to Percocet®. Also worth noting – most were under the age of 25.
