”I went through two other centers and never had a clue—but you showed me where to find it and how to fix it. You truly opened my eyes.”

The term 'learning disabilities' covers a wide variety of disorders. Some, such as ADHD, involve long-term use of Adderall®, Ritalin®, or Concerta®, starting at an early age. All three of these drugs are amphetamines and therefore share the same chemical structure as methamphetamine. Individuals who have been prescribed these drugs early on are far more likely to abuse drugs as adults. Most of those coming to us at Sovereign Health for crystal meth addiction are people who, as children, were prescribed long-term medication for learning disabilities such as ADHD.
After years of using prescribed psycho-stimulants, adults often turn to other, more intense substances such as methamphetamines. These substances generally serve as crutches that help counter feelings of inadequacy, shame, depression, or guilt caused by a learning disability. Abuse follows and the individual quickly becomes dependent. Many addicts realize that they have a serious problem and look for professional help in rehab. We, at Sovereign Health of California, can provide this help.
At Sovereign Health, we provide confidential, affordable and effective treatment for addiction to prescription psycho-stimulants and other forms of amphetamines. Our highly qualified, experienced staff offers a variety of clinical and holistic therapies and is always available to support clients through all phases of treatment and recovery. Our programs and dual diagnosis treatment work, where others fail.
Another example of a learning disability is Dyslexia. According to studies, dyslexics are ten times more likely to become addicted to drugs and alcohol than others. Dyslexia is often overlooked or misdiagnosed, which often leads to feelings of ineptness in school as an individual may not learn at the same level as his or her peers. This causes many to drop out of school and succumb to substance abuse. Early diagnosis and treatment from a drug treatment center can break this cycle and help dyslexics realize that they are merely different, not lesser people.
In order for recovery to be successful, it is important to treat both the addiction itself and any underlying issues at an effection drug rehab center. At Sovereign Health of California, our highly qualified staff boasts a plentitude of experience in dual diagnosis and treatment of co-occurring disorders. An initial evaluation will uncover all the underlying issues and a treatment plan will be specifically moulded to fit the individual’s needs. Our success rate speaks for itself.
