When I first arrived at Sovereign Health of California Treatment Center, the only feeling I could identify with was fear. Fear of my past life experiences, fear of friends and family and the most extreme fear was of myself. I had spent the last year of my life intensely self-destructing. In my time at Sovereign Health of California, I have been blessed with the help of an amazing staff. You all welcomed me and my past. At first you all held my hand as we came to understand who I was. As time went on you walked right beside me. As I walk into my future, I know you are all behind me, letting me go, yet I know if I fall there will be someone to catch me. I know now more than the feeling of fear these days; sad, mad, glad, hurt, afraid and ashamed have become part of my vocabulary. I know I can never re-pay you for your patience and insight, but I will do my best to "Pay It Forward," living my best life in the grace of God.
